What this site collects and why.

This page describes the current handling of form submissions and site interaction data for SepticPath. It is an operational policy page, not legal advice.

Information collected

What is handled depends on the action you choose. Browsing public guidance does not create a property file on our servers.

Quote and contact forms store the details you submit, such as name, email, phone, ZIP code, project answers, message, consent text, and submission time.
The free Record Help beta stores the submitted contact details, property address, record type, research goal, what the requester has already found, relevant listing or permit facts, deadline, notes, and consent snapshot. These details are emailed to the SepticPath operator for manual review.
When you choose human document review, the source files you attach are stored with the private request record and emailed to the SepticPath operator. The form currently accepts up to three PDF, TXT, PNG, or JPG files with a 15 MB combined limit.
Anonymous measurement can record page and tool actions, county route, general workflow status, referrer, device/browser information, and network information. Property address, parcel ID, request number, email, and phone are not intentionally sent as analytics event fields.
An address entered in the record finder is used to resolve a county through the U.S. Census lookup. It is not added to a SepticPath server-side property database.

Browser-only task data

Some workflow information stays in your own browser so an official-site handoff does not erase your work.

County-task clues, request progress, and confirmation notes can remain in local browser storage for up to 30 days and can be cleared from the workflow.
Documents added to the self-serve review workspace are processed to create an extracted summary. Original files and OCR images from that browser-only tool are not intentionally retained; a saved workspace is created only when you choose to download it. This differs from the human-review form described above.
Clearing site data in your browser also removes browser-only task state.

Why submitted information is stored

Submitted form records support the exact action shown at the time of submission.

To answer contact, correction, or privacy requests.
To research and reply to a requested property-record investigation during the beta, including contacting the responsible public office when appropriate.
To preserve a consent snapshot, submission time, and estimate context attached to a quote-help request.
To measure whether record and estimate workflows are useful without treating a request confirmation as a record obtained.

Sharing, retention, and your choices

A quote-help submission may be reviewed for routing to an appropriate service provider, but submission does not mean a provider is available or has accepted the project.

Do not submit payment-card, bank-account, government-ID, or other highly sensitive personal information through the forms.
Operational form records and audit logs are retained while needed for inquiry handling, consent records, abuse prevention, and legitimate operations; a fixed deletion period is not yet promised.
Use the Privacy request option on the contact page to ask what was stored or request deletion. Include the lead or contact reference when available.

Important note

Control the handoff

Government submission stays under your control. SepticPath prepares and tracks the task but does not silently submit a county request in your name.
