What the service provides

Public guidance and calculators provide planning information. Record Help researches available sources, matches returned material to the property when possible, and explains what the evidence does and does not answer.

Submitting a Record Help request, research, document review, and necessary agency requests are free.
Property-matched source records and the explanation we can provide are included free. Results identify the source, findings and material limitations. Customer-supplied files remain the customer's own.
Records can be unavailable, incomplete, delayed, or held by a different office; SepticPath does not guarantee that a requested record exists or will be released.

Free results, agency fees and field services

No paid unlock is required for the records and explanation we provide. Local professionals charge separately for their services; introductions do not guarantee availability, price or response time.

There is no record-help service payment, subscription, or automatic charge. Never send card details by email.
Agency search, copy, or portal fees are separate, charged at actual cost, and require approval before they are incurred. An approved agency fee may apply even if no record is found.
Existing requests retain their accepted terms, including free-beta service and any earlier promise of a free finding. If a paid package cannot be delivered as described, SepticPath will correct the delivery or refund the service fee through the payment provider.

Evidence boundaries and customer responsibility

A historical permit, drawing, approval, or agency response documents what that source says; it does not by itself prove present condition, safety, installation, code compliance, or future approval.

Customers remain responsible for inspections, site evaluations, permit decisions, legal advice, deadlines, and work by appropriately qualified professionals.
The result explains missing evidence, identity uncertainty, conflicting sources and limitations. It does not promise a favorable result. Known urgent safety concerns are communicated promptly. A wrong-property file, pending request or empty search is not presented as a verified answer.
Content and public-source routes may change as agencies update their systems. Keep the request reference and reply to the service email for delivery questions, corrections, or refund requests.
